Keys!

We took a picture to commemorate the occasion.  Our realtor is a good friend of ours, so he made a cameo of handing us our keys.

We got the keys to our house today!!!

I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.  There are so many things to start doing it's hard to think straight.  All we’ve ever talked about was finding a home that we could grow into.  A home that we could transform into our dream home.  A place where the kids could pitch in and help us create the perfect space for our family.  A place where our kids could play and be kids.

We found it!!!

It took a lot of looking and a whole bunch of miracles along the way, but we found the home of our dreams (in its very beginning-est stage).

I always said my dream home would have a bunch of windows, but would be difficult to see inside (I like the outside, but I also like it when people don't see that I'm still in my pajama's), and as you can see from the picture above, I found it!  The house that waited for us.  I'm so excited to peel back the gross carpet and salmon vomit paint (the name Jesse gave it) and see the potential it has.  There are so many dimensions to this house.  It's textured and layered with history.  1952.  That's how long my little house has been waiting for me.

This home has seen a lot, but I imagine this fellow has no idea what's coming.  This home will be filled with laundry, and dishes.  Patched holes, "owies", and all kinds of mishaps.  There will be arguments, and snuggle fest's, and probably some crying.  There will be tattling, and nose picking, clogged toilets and some slammed doors.  There will undoubtedly be some bad jokes and some genuine laughter.  There will be mistakes and success.  There will be burnt meals and lots, and lots of cheesecake.  There will be chocolate and I'm sure, a fair amount of hiding in my room to find the fortitude to not sell the children I love so dearly.  There will be honesty.  And also, there will be loads and loads of memories.
